Research Grants

Applications for the AAIDF Research and Steflik Grants are no longer being accepted for 2024. The application deadline was Monday, July 1, 2024. No late applications will be accepted.

As part of its mission, the AAIDF provides grant funding to researchers who are discovering new and innovative ways to advance the field of Implant Dentistry. Through grant funding, researchers aim to discover and translate their findings into implant dentistry practice.

Steflik Grant Application

The David Steflik Memorial Student Research Grants are available to all dental students and those in post-graduate and residency programs. Dr. Steflik was a Researcher and Professor at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta since 1979. There he served as a Professor of Surgery and Director of Research for Orthopedic Surgery. He was also Professor of cell biology-anatomy in the School of Graduate Studies and held an appointment at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Steflik's research on tissue responses to implanted biomaterials led to breakthroughs in dental implantology.

The AAIDF Steflik Grants are appropriate for new investigators, post-graduate students, and those resuming their research careers.

Applicants may request up to $2,000 to fund their research project for up to a two-year grant period. Applicants also have the opportunity to attend the AAID Annual Conference and present project findings once the research is complete, with reimbursement for travel costs.
